Tell us a bit about your role
I’m a trainee Quantity Surveyor based at MIMO headquarters in Chorley. I’m currently in my second year of a 5 year quantity surveying degree apprenticeship course. This involves working 4 days with Mike and the team and spending 1 day at John Moore’s University per week. My role is to assist Mike and Ben with all aspects of the business whilst learning and developing my skills on the job and consolidating my understanding of processes learnt at University.
What’s been your journey with MIMO?
Mike asked me to come on board in July 2022. I knew of his passion to grow the business and instigate a training element to MIMO’S business practice. I am lucky enough to be reaping the benefits of the team’s drive and enthusiasm for the job and their willingness to share best practice and invest their time and energy in developing my future career as a Quantity Surveyor.
What’s it like to work at MIMO?
MIMO is a great place to work. The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive, organised and productive. We all have a similar work ethic and this ensures we get the job done in a timely manner. There’s always plenty of banter along the way.
What does collaborative consulting mean to you?
Collaborative consulting to me means good, clear communication between the team at MIMO and the client so that trust is built and a true understanding of expectations is established. This promotes an effective and efficient working relationship where any issues can be resolved swiftly and the project completed successfully.
Outside of work, what are you interests and hobbies?
I like to keep active when outside of work. I run regularly and train. I play 5 a side football once a week. I also support Liverpool and go to watch their home games regularly. I like to travel and enjoy weekends away in this country, camping or glamping and exploring the countryside on foot. I have also experienced many city breaks. Hopefully I’ll be able to explore more places in the near future.
